Almost Never featuring Ryan Early to premiere on CBBC in January 2019

New television show Almost Never, which features Winterson’s actor Ryan Early, is set to premiere on CBBC in January 2019. The show received its official BAFTA launch earlier this month, hosted by Vernon Kay, where it was well received by press and industry attendees.

“Almost Never is a new show featuring Kimberly Wyatt, Emily Atack, Colin Hoult, Michelle Gayle and myself,” says Ryan. “It’s a great combination of comedy and drama about the events that unfold when a band on a TV Talent show comes second. We see the guys immediately cast aside the setback and pick themselves up, on a mission to become a success anyway.”

“I play Dan who owns the local diner ‘The Palais’, which is where the kids hang out and rehearse. Dan’s an ex-pop star himself and has spent his last cash building The Palais. I’d say the show is predominantly aimed at teenagers and without giving too much away there are two bands including both a boyband and a girlband, so there’s something for everyone!”

The series was created by Jeremy Salsby’s Saltbeef Productions and co-creator Paul Rose, before being acquired by Dynamic Television, and you can find out more about it on the BBC website here.
