Emily-Mae shines as Ulla in The Producers

Winterson’s actress Emily-Mae took to the stage last night to take up the iconic role of Ulla in Mel Brooks’ The Producers. The actress brought energy and imagination to the Swedish starlet in a new production of the show that has been celebrated through the national and industry press.

“Joining the boys is Emily-Mae as Swedish starlet Ulla. She has a stunning voice and has the audience enraptured during her audition piece for the two producers ‘When You Got It Flaunt It’.”
★★★★★ —Manchester Evening News

“At least Emily-Mae seems to be in on the joke as stereotypical Swedish sexpot Ulla, while Charles Brunton and Hammed Animashaun embrace the OTT campness that surrounds the characters of cross-dressing hack director Roger De Bris and his “common law assistant” Carmen to such a joyously heightened effect as to bypass any potential offence.”
★★★★ —The Stage

“It is to her testament that moments after the giddy rendition of ‘Keep It Gay’, the audience were perfectly silent for her powerful delivery of ‘When You Got It, Flaunt It’.”
★★★★ —WhatsOnStage

“This season The Royal Exchange has definitely produced a hit and one in the best possible taste.”
★★★★ —Reviews Hub

“This is a headily pleasurable show that, astonishingly, marks Shaw’s debut as a director of musicals and that offers as much fun as you could hope to find on any stage this Christmas.”
