Impressive reviews for RSC’s Imperium featuring Eloise Secker

Parts 1 & 2 of The RSC’s Imperium debuted at The Swan Theatre in Stratford earlier in this month, prompting impressive reviews across both national and industry press. Winterson’s actress, Eloise Secker, plays the roles of Clodia & Fulvia in the two shows, and has previously appeared in The Two Nobel Kinsmen, The Rover, and The Seven Acts of Mercy for The RSC. We have here highlighted a selection of the Imperium reviews.

“Eloise Secker, as both Clodia and Fulvia, suggests that power-battles are not confined to the Forum and that vengeful rage is not the property of any particular gender.”
★★★★★ — The Guardian

“This impressive production is a riveting epic for our time — The West Wing in sandals”
★★★★ — The Times

“As with his clever reinvention of Wolf Hall and Bring Up The Bodies a few years back, Poulton puts these dense historical epics onto the stage with all the panache and pace of a Netflix box set.”
★★★★★ — WhatsOnStage

“Ambitious and intricate”
★★★★ — The Stage
