Jack Whittle joins the final of The Stephen Sondheim Society Student Performer of the Year 2017

Winterson’s actor, Jack Whittle, has been successful in reaching the final of the Stephen Sondheim Student Performer of the Year awards 2017 (SSSSPOTY). The awards help support a performing arts student starting out in the world of professional musical theatre, and also showcase the work of new composers, lyricists, and writers.

We recently caught up with Jack, who told us about starting out in the industry, offering insights into the process of signing with an agent, making the transition from drama school to castings, and what he’d personally like to focus on after graduation.

The final of the Sondheim awards will take place at The Noel Coward Theatre in the West End on Sunday 11th June. There, Jack will join a total of 12 finalists in performing a song of his choice as the final decision on performer of the year is made. Just making it this far however is a huge honour and we congratulate Jack in gaining this recognition so early in his career.
